This Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers recipe has been a staple in my family for as long as I can remember. Along with my Grandma’s Chex mix, these crunchy oyster crackers usually show up during the holiday season or on a Packer’s game day.

It’s actually pretty crazy how, essentially, a packet of dry ranch salad dressing, dill weed, and a little bit of garlic powder can transform something as “blah” as oyster crackers into the most addicting perfect easy snack. In just a few easy steps you’ll have the best flavored oyster crackers on hand.

Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers in bowls

When I have people over for a party or get-together, I usually set a bowl of these spicy seasoned oyster crackers out.

I love watching people tentatively take a couple to try them out, then grab a handful and walk away….then come back for another handful! Once they get a taste of these oyster cracker snacks, most people cannot stop eating them.

This easy recipe makes a large batch of seasoned oyster crackers. If you don’t eat the entire batch, just store them in an airtight container at room temperature. It’s a great snack to have on hand for your family to help themselves. The best part is that they taste even better the next day after they’ve had time to soak in even more of the dill and ranch flavor.

This post will show you how to make the best Hidden Valley Oyster Cracker Recipe!

What You’ll Need to Make This Spicy Oyster Crackers Recipe

  • 3 bags (9 ounces each) of plain oyster crackers
  • 1 envelope of Original Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning (dry mix)
  • 1 cup of canola oil, vegetable oil, or olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp dill weed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

For those of you that like even more of a kick, you could add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to ramp up the heat. Just add a little bit at a time until you reach your desired level of spice, so you don’t accidentally go overboard.

How to Make Seasoned Oyster Crackers

In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients together EXCEPT the oyster crackers.

Next, place oyster crackers into a large bowl. Pour the seasoning mix from the small bowl over the crackers and mix really well until all of the crackers are completely covered with seasoning.

It’s best to let the crackers sit for about an hour before serving. This allows the oil to “set” the seasoning and keeps the oyster crackers from feeling greasy.
