Print Recipe
Your whole family will love this old-fashioned Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf recipe. No matter how many other homemade meatloaf recipes I try, I always get requests to go back to this family favorite!
Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:1 hour

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 envelope of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup dry bread crumbs plain or Italian
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Additional ketchup or barbecue sauce for the top of the meatloaf

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Next, in a large bowl combine ground beef, dry onion soup mix, eggs, ketchup, bread crumbs, water, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together with your hands until all of the ingredients are combined.
  • Place the ground meat mixture in a greased loaf pan or form it into a loaf shape on a greased or aluminum foil lined baking dish.
  • Spread a thin layer of ketchup or, for a sweeter flavor, barbeque sauce, over the top of the entire meatloaf.
  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, until the internal temperature of the center of the loaf is 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • To help prevent crumbling when slicing, let the meatloaf rest for about 5 minutes before you cut into it.
  • Store leftover meatloaf in the refrigerator in an airtight container. This easy recipe makes the BEST meatloaf sandwiches the next day!
