2cupswater
1teaspooncornstarch mixed with 1 to 2 teaspoons wateroptional

Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon of the soup mix, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon ketchup, salt, and pepper. Knead until evenly mixed and divide into 4 patties. Drag a fork across the top of each to create light lines.
Cook the patties in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned on both sides and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Discard excess grease. Add water and remaining soup mix to the pan, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in remaining Worcestershire sauce and ketchup and bring to a simmer.
If desired, stir in the cornstarch mixture and simmer until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
Return the patties to the pan, spoon gravy over them, and simmer for a few minutes until heated through. Serve hot.
