Crispy Cast-Iron Roasted Brussels Sprouts Without Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup optional
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • Chopped parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil.
  • Once the oil shimmers, place Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer. Let them sear undisturbed for 5 to 7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Sprinkle with garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
  • Stir and roast another 5 to 7 minutes, until tender with crispy edges.
  • Optional: Add maple syrup during the last 1 to 2 minutes for a caramelized glaze.
  • Remove from heat and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Garnish with herbs if using. Serve warm.
