Preheat your oven to 450° F. Next, spray a 9x9 baking pan with cooking spray.
Next, place mix the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese in a shallow bowl.
Press the raw chicken breasts into the breadcrumb/cheese mixture, making sure that you completely coat all sides of the chicken.
After the chicken is completely coated, place the breasts in the prepared baking dish and bake for 15-17 minutes and remove from oven. (At this point, the chicken breasts will start to look brown and crispy).
While the chicken is baking, bring a large pot of water to a boil and prepare the penne pasta according to package directions, until it is al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step Four
Place pasta in a 9x13 inch baking pan. Add two cups of your jarred sauce and stir until the cooked pasta is well coated in the tomato sauce.
Place the cooked chicken on top of the prepared pasta. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken and top with mozzarella cheese.
Place the pan back in the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature of the chicken is 165° F.
