Rice Cooker Instructions
Cook the rice according to your rice cooker’s directions
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a serving bowl and stir in the butter, chopped scallions, and za’atar spice.
Rice Stovetop Instructions
Place rice and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once the rice is boiling, cover and reduce heat to low.
Allow the rice to cook until it’s tender, which usually takes 15-18 minutes.
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a serving bowl and stir in the butter, chopped scallions, and za’atar spice.
If you haven’t cooked with za’atar spice in the past, I recommend starting by adding half a tbsp tasting it, and working your way up to a full tbsp if you still want extra flavor. I always use the full TBSP (and sometimes a bit more) but I know some people can find it overpowering.
