Tips and Variations for this Easy Broccoli Salad

  • You can make this salad up to 24 hours in advance. It tastes better the next day after the flavors have had a chance to meld.
  • You can customize this salad to your heart’s content. You could add crunchy sunflower seeds and dried cranberries for a sweet broccoli cauliflower salad.
  • Swap out the white vinegar in the salad dressing for white wine vinegar, red wine vinegar, or apple cider vinegar for a tangy dressing on this already irresistible salad.
  • You can also swap out the mayo in the homemade dressing recipe for greek yogurt or light mayonnaise if you want to cut a few calories.
  • Feel free to substitute turkey bacon or real bacon bits for the cooked bacon in this easy recipe. (I almost always use real bacon bits – the kind that looks and feel like actual bacon, not the crunchy flavored bits – as a shortcut when making this recipe.

This worked out amazingly.. I was worried the amount of sauce would not be enough to coat everything but it was the perfect. I did mayo, red wine vinegar and sugar. I added chopped walnuts and chopped crasins. Pair it with bbq pulled pork sandwhiches for dinner tonight and will go perfect for Rotisserie chicken over the weekend. (How long would you say its good for in fridge)
