How to Make Delicious Crab Legs In Your Instant Pot – Easy Recipe
Crab legs are always a treat for a special occasion and this easy instant pot crab legs recipe is sure to impress the seafood lovers in your life!

I love serving crab legs both on their own or alongside a nice grilled steak. (It’s sort of like having a high-end restaurant meal from the comfort of your own home.) They are perfect for celebrating a special holiday like Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve. This crab leg recipe is an easy way to add an extra special treat to any meal.
Before the instant pot, I used to warm my crab legs in the oven on a baking sheet. Pressure cooking has changed all that – the Instant Pot really is the easiest way to cook this seafood favorite. It requires very little cooking time and I am certain that the first time you follow this easy recipe, it will become your favorite way to cook crab leg clusters.
What You’ll Need to Make Crab Legs in Your Instant Pot
- 1.5 cups of water
- 2 -3 pounds of frozen snow crab legs
- Optional: melted butter and lemon wedges for serving
You can also get creative
- Serve your crab legs with garlic butter sauce (recipe below).
- Add a generous sprinkling of old bay seasoning added to the water in the Instant Pot while cooking.
- Add black pepper or garlic cloves to the bottom of the instant pot while cooking.
Garlic Butter Dipping Sauce
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ tablespoon lemon juice
Whisk the ingredients together in a small bowl until combined.
How to Make Instant Pot Snow Crab Legs
Step One
- Place a metal trivet into the bottom of your Instant Pot and pour the water in.
- Add the clusters of crab legs to the pressure cooker.
Step Two
- Close the lid, set the machine to high pressure, and set the manual cook time to 5 minutes.
Step Three
- Once the crab meat is done cooking, perform a quick release on your Instant Pot. Once it’s safe to do so, remove the lid and use tongs to transfer the crab legs on a serving platter.
- Serve with melted butter and a squeeze of lemon juice.
