First, preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

Next, in a small bowl, combine the butter and garlic.

Cut the bread in half horizontally and place it on the prepared baking sheets. Spread one-half of the garlic butter mixture on each piece.

Next, sprinkle 1/2 of the Parmesan Cheese on each piece of bread, followed by 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese on each piece of bread.

Finally, bake the bread for about 12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden brown

Cut the bread crosswise into slices and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Store any leftovers in an airtight container or plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Recipe Notes:

This recipe is so easy to customize to your family’s tastebuds or whatever ingredients you have on hand! You can easily:

  • Swap out the Italian loaf for French Bread
  • Use 1.5 teaspoons of garlic powder in place of the fresh garlic cloves
  • Sprinkle your favorite Italian seasoning or Italian Herbs over the top of the cheese
  • Swap in your favorite cheese – Romano cheese, Pecorino Romano, Colby Jack Cheese, and an Italian Cheese blend all work great
  • Top with a few slices of salami for extra flavor
