Quiche is one of my “go-to” easy meal ideas whenever I want to use up odds and ends in my refrigerator. Literally, as long as you have a pie crust, 4 eggs, and a cup of milk on hand, you can create any combination of quiche you like. The only real limiting factor is the bake time, as you will need about a solid 30-40 minutes available in your schedule to allow it to cook.
Egg McMuffin Quiche actually came together as a result of leftover ingredients we’d used to make breakfast sandwiches using this handy tool. This simple quiche is perfect for any meal and leftover slices reheat easily in the microwave.
What You’ll Need to Make an Egg McMuffin Quiche
- 1 9-inch pre-made deep dish pie crust
- 4 slices Canadian Bacon
- 1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese, divided
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk or half and half
- 1 English Muffin
- salt and pepper
How to Make an English Muffin Quiche
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Next, chop the Canadian Bacon and place create add it to the bottom of the pie crust.
Next, cover the Canadian Bacon with 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
Now, chop the English Muffin into approximately 1/4-inch pieces and layer on top of the cheese in your pie crust. Follow with the remaining 1/4 cup of shredded cheese.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, gently combine 4 eggs and 1 cup milk or half and half (I almost exclusively use whole milk when making quiches and it works perfectly). You can also season the egg mixture with salt and pepper if you’d like.
Carefully pour the egg mixture into the pie crust, covering the filling.
Finally, bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, until the egg mixture is set. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
